Askarov will be the future elite goalie detroit will need in order to compete at a high level for a long time.

VGK 1st is pick 18: They select Noel Gunler.
Noel gives the scoring nack that Detroit will be able to spread in 2-3 different lines with the likes of Zadina, Mantha and now Gunler.

DET
  1. 2020 3rd round pick (TBL)
TBL
  1. Glendening, Luke
Additional Details:
Glendening is a good 4th line player who provides good speed and is a good penalty killer. Tampa's 3rd will be later in the draft so the value is fair. Glendening also gives Tampa's 4th line a little boost in terms of scoring, as he has speed and subtle skills that allows him to create some opportunities for other players.
2.
DET
  1. 2020 1st round pick (VGK)
VGK
  1. Green, Mike ($2,500,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Vegas lacks a good puck moving defenseman. Retaining salary increases greens value, and also benefits vegas with their cap crunch; especially, since they are cup competitors a good RHD puck moving defenseman will benefit them in the playoffs.
3.
DET
  1. Gustafsson, David
  2. 2021 4th round pick (WPG)
WPG
  1. DeKeyser, Danny ($2,000,000 retained)
Additional Details:
DeKyser has had a better year this year and has gotten better defensively. Winnipeg needs defense and a 3million dollar dekyser for 3 years is a decent price. Gustafsson coming to detroit will help him get the opportunity to play, since Perlini is an inconsistent player, they could battle for the role.
4.
DET
  1. Puljujärvi, Jesse [Reserve List]
Additional Details:
Pulijuarvi signs a 3 year deal at 2.5
EDM
  1. Filppula, Valtteri
  2. 2020 2nd round pick (WSH)
  3. 2021 2nd round pick (DET)
Additional Details:
Jesse needs a new start to create his path in the NHL. Personally I think Jesse will not resign with the Oilers unless there is an offer sheet. Edm will be getting a center who still can make plays, plays defense and adds scoring depth to the team. The two 2nd round picks alone, I think is more tha fair on its own to acquire Jesse.

Green isn't worth a 1st.

Doubt the Jets want to add any cap without some going out.

An injury prone Green doesn't even touch a 2nd, no way a 1st. Also the Red Wings will finish bottom three this year if not dead last, so we *very likely* will not fall all the way to 6th. We are not moving DeKeyser, a Michigan kid who has turned out to be a top pairing defensemen for us. And especially not while Blashill's coaching. Same type of thing with Glendening, I doubt he gets moved. The guys we should be looking at moving this deadline 100% are Helm and Green. They should both be gone. Athanasiou should be shopped and moved for the right price only, and most of our bottom six is open for business as well, except none of them will garner anything truly worth while. More just to open up roster spots. Also I think Filppula is here to stay until he retires, otherwise Stevie wouldn't have signed him for two years. And I'm sure we could get JP with the two 2nd's, but I don't think it's even worth it. The guy is a 3rd line skill player at best, the league is just too fast for him. Even if the 2020 2nd is late, I still would rather take our chances and draft somebody ourselves. That's just me, but I'm not high on JP and I'm not quite sure what the fascination with him is.

Mike Green has played his entire career in the east, No way i see him waiving for Vegas. And no way in hell is Danny DeKeyser a Detroit kid waiving his full NTC for Winnipeg that's not even remotely possible. No thanks drafting a goalie with our 1st round pick we need Centers Larsson should do just fine. Zero chance of Yzerman dealing Filppula after signing him to a 2 year deal. Not happening Fil wants to retire where he began.

Sorry, but I would much prefer the best goalie prospect (since Carey Price) who is playing Pro hockey in the KHL at 17 years old. Which is harder to come by than high end center may I add. It would be stupid to pass on him especially if in 5-6 years we want to be competing for the cup, which is the ultimate goal. Also the trades are hypothetical, meaning that this is what I see their value is. Both of the Defensemen are retained making their value significantly higher than their full current contract. A good puck mover in Green who has playoff experience and costs you <3,000,000 for a first round pick? inject that in my veins.

We were the third worst team in back to back years and fell to 6 both times. In which we got Seider and Zadina. DeKyser is also a top pair Dman for this team because we have no other defense man. on any competing team he is at best your 4th Dman. Also, jesse is a high skill player who has a good hockey IQ. 2nd round picks tend to play in the NHL I think it was <10% of the time so the odds aren't high for taking chances on a 2nd rd pick. Signing Jesse and trading for him gives us Low risk High reward. If he plays and scores 15 goals and 40 points and makes 2.5mill that's huge, if he score 10 goals and has 30 points it's a small contract that won't affect any crucial long term conflicts.
