Lol. You’re not even in the right country let alone ball park to acquire Anderson from Columbus.

really? He’s been terrible this year. Even when he wasn’t terrible last year CBJ fans overrate the hell out of Anderson.

He’s also 24 and on a very low contract. He doesn’t have the best amount of points, but he’s a big guy who can skate and has good hands and can play physical. Not something you find on the street everyday, so of course he’s going to be hard to get.

Perspective;
He has TWO points lol and is a minus -7 in a contract year no less. I doubt you’ll see much of a raise for him cause judging by his career numbers last year was likely a flash in the pan. Not to mention his 1 goal in the playoffs last year coming in game 1 against Tampa. Heck, Ryan Reaves and Lucic are outscoring him lol. So a third round pick and Sutter sounds pretty decent to me.

So a cap dump of over twice what he makes and more than what he will get in his next deal( he is a rfa) and a 3rd sounds good to you. Yes, he is having a slow start, I agree, but you forget two things. One his team is depleted of alot of the players he had last year and two why does Columbus need a defenseman, they need forwards.

gotta chime in here, lol. Sutter is a forward... not a defense man (unless it was edited). is the trade fair? no.... given anderson is younger and has more upside i think VAN would have to add... i think Baertschi might be a good fit for Columbus looking for top 6 talent.

and Ottawa is paying next to nothing for those 2 guys on LTIR insurance covers it, given their reputation, no way they give that up for an over paid player like eriksson.

Because your cheap owner likes saving money and getting a guy who can play in the lineup and get rid of two players injured who are getting free money is a no brainer

pay a guy a full salary, or keep 2 guys on LTIR and only pay 15% of their salary while insurance covers the rest.... how does this save him money?

**EDIT**
between Callahan, Mcarthur and Gaborik they have 15 mil on LTIR... OTT only pays 2.25 of they salary,
