After This 5 Game Losing Streak and MB Scouting CHIDAL Last Night

Description
I am sure the value in the trade is not exactly on point here.. But Dallas is pushing hard this year and having Price in nets and bolstering their D with Petry would make them even more of a threat. Lindell and Bishop are good, but not as good as those two. Seguin is the biggest piece coming back for Mtl, with a few extra pieces going to Dallas to try and even things up. Let me know how far off I am (I for sure am far off aren't I?)

In terms of value, Seguin and Bishop for Petry and Price is probably fair. Lindell isn't getting traded. But this puts Dallas out of contention since they lose their #1 centre and you need that to win

If Julien stay as coach for MTL, don't think about getting Seguin. He's the reason why BOS trade him. There's not a good relation between those two.

And I don't even think Nill does that. Seguin is their best player by far, he could be traded 1 for 1 for Price or almost

Would they include someone like Harley instead of Lindell? I don't think Habs would move one of, if not, their best D without getting one back.

This is true, good point.

Bishop > Price at this point
Bishop's contract >>> Price's contract

Lindell and Petry are similar with Lindell signed longer so likely more value

Seguin for the other two pieces is laughable

Also before you flip out on the Bishop Price thing:

Here's goalies by save percentage over the last 3.5 years http://hkref.com/tiny/gFInr

Bishop is number 1 Price is number 22

If you increase it to 5.5 years http://hkref.com/tiny/TdDbZ

Bishop is still number one but price jumps to a tie for fourth.

What does that mean? It means price is riding his accomplishments from 4-6 years ago. He has been an average at best goalie for the last 3.5 seasons. He's the wrong side of 30 and signed for term at huge money...

This is craziness. Bishop is worth more than price and Petry....

Price is not valuable at his age and contract. He may very well have negative value at this point. His value is tied to his past production, not recent production. He is 32 and signed to a massive contract and 2 of his last 4 years have been below average. Anyone who trades serious assets for him and his contract doesn't understand aging.

Could he be the next Luongo? (Play great into his late 30s?) Sure! But he could also be the next Giguere and has already shown signs of serious decline...

no team with Price as their goalie is making the playoffs this year, Dallas would be shooting themselves in the foot if they took him

Teams don't trade their 1C's for a return like this, if Dallas suddenly decided to tear it all down and rebuild they might trade Seguin for a package of like 5 good picks/prospects but certainly not for Price, Petry, a B-prospect and a 2nd.

Habs fans really overvalue Petry.
