I think Toews and Lehner are worth more than Kotketnemi and Price. Lehner alone I think is better than Price currently because he is a really solid goaltender, so adding Toews and a first would be a lot.

This is the equivalent of sending Dach, Seabrook, and a 2nd to Montreal in return for Petry, Weber, and a 1st. Would you do that?

This potential trade is frustrating as a Blackhawks Fan.

Carey Price is still a top 5 goalie in the league, There would probably be people on both sides of the argument defending Lehner/ Price as the better goalie.

Price is 32, and signed for 5 more years after this season at 10.5 a year. I understand Price may make the Blackhawks better today but his work load throughout his career, his previous injury problems and the remaining length of his contract should be something that Blackhawks fans are familiar with.

Brent Seabrook is one of my favourite Blackhawks, and I actually think he has played fine this season, particularly since the healthy scratch. But in 2, maybe 3 years after Price has played 150 more NHL starts he will not be the player he is today, and what ever team he is playing for they will be saying a lot of the same things Chicago Fans say about Seabrook right now.

If you evacuate Lehner’s play, his age, and cap demand (Chicago won’t pay him Prices’s salary) alone with Price, the Blackhawks would be overpaying here. Losing Toews, & giving up 1st is insanity.
