???? Gee, the Devils would just take the Sabres first round pick in 2020,,,which is likely a top 7 selection. Why would the Sabres trade so much? Look what a signed Stone cost Vegas last season. Just Brannerstrom.

Sabres wouldn't consider trading a first unless they believe they'll reach the playoffs and it won't be a lottery pick.

Have you ever considered that maybe Ottawa is run by dullards which is why they ended up with just Brannstrom?

Brannstrom was basically a better prospect at the time than Dylan Cozens is right now. Would Chicago trade Dach for an extended Hall right now? Who knows but I dont think so.
Im looking at it from a rental perspective with what Duchene got at last deadline with Hall being a bit better. Duchene got Abramov, Davidsson, 2019 1st, conditional 2020 1st

They were backed into a corner and had 30 mins left. At the very least the 2nd should've been a 1st. And instead of Lindberg they should've got someone like Eakin

my point! You aren't getting Taylor Hall for Connor Sheary, a B prospect, a 1st and a conditional pick upon re-signing (that isn't a first rounder)

I think most reasonable sabres fans know we are absolutely not looking at hall. The fact that a first will be required (and that all firsts are not equal) puts us out of the running. Even if we wanted the sabres to overpay (and i dont need them overpaying at wing when the center spot is so bad), our gm has been very conservative, i dont see him throwing around firsts willy nilly. Hes not a great gm, hes probably not even an ok gm, but surely he has to see how ridiculous it would be to trade a top 8 pick for a rental, and then add probably another first to resign a guy that would kill our salary structure. We would have eichel, skinner, and hall making 30 million- with reinhart due about 8 and dahlin waiting in the wings. Of course then you will have traded away 2 chances of getting a very talented young player to play on an elc. I suppose you could try to move reinhart and recoup assets and space, but it still doesnt make much sense.

0 teams would pay that, so unless youre specifically biased against Buffalo, youre completely delusional. Hall isnt going to stay in NJ, if they dont trade him they will lose him for nothing

The problem is that I don’t see how Hall is re-signing in Buffalo and naturally we will not our first round for rent, because I think it will be close to the top 10.
