Too bad that's now how it works. Johnson will invoke his ntc for those teams and Syracuse isn't an option as either the bolts would lose him for nothing via waivers or in the highly unlikely scenario he cleared, he would still eat a large portion of his contract towards the cap for a player that would then not even be playing in Tampa. Killorn is the only one of the 3 or 4 non core role guys who could be moved without his complete agreement to do so. Joseph gets moved perhaps fir a rental Kreider or Toffoli(maybe a chance to resign Toffoli, but likely not Kreider), Killorn is traded, and maybe one more small move to make the roster work next year, depending on where the cap ends up. Hopefully it's around 84, which if so the Lightning should be able to fit in Serg, Cirelli and Cernak, while maybe being able to keep Maroon if he wants to stay.
