After missing playoffs Hawks recalibrate again

Created by: ChiHawk
Team: 2020-21 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 27, 2019
Published: Nov. 27, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Hawks make some moves at the TDL in 2020. They get lucky and win a top 5 draft pick (not #1OA though) in the lottery and pick up Byfield, Raymond, Holtz, or perferetti. Any of which I believe can step right in.

Guys that are in the "scratches" section are all guys I think that will compete for a roll with this team next year.

In no real scenario would I play Dennis Gilbert over Seabrook. Atleast Seabrook knows where to be most of the time. I would play Holm or Beaudin over him too. Gilbert just has no upside. Hes just a big guy, thats about all he brings to the table at this point.

Dmen are late bloomers. I wouldn’t give up on him yet. Maybe he can turn that big body into a decent bottom pairing guy? At worst you trade him for a pick or prospect.

Beaudin and Regula don’t battle for spots?

Beaudin isn't ready yet, he will need another year.

I like that Olli Maata trade, we give up a depth AHL guy and get back a potential 3/4 LHD. His contract isn't the best, but I imagine he would mesh well with the Finnish guys.

I like it, I am curious as to what others think of Saad’s worth. I tend to overvalue but I would think he could bring back a first. I like the overall team, sets them up well for the future. It’s exciting to see how stacked the defensive prospect pool is even after trading away one of our best in Joki.

yeah i mean im not saying that we should get rid of him, but at this point there is no scenario id play him over seabrook or holm
