Why do you want to trade Ceci who's been playing so good for an offensive defenseman?

What would be classified as a "Big move"?

Now to be clear, i think there are some teams that might have interest, but the kings ain’t it.

I don't think the Kings would be interested unless there were salary coming back that they wanted to get rid of. As far as the TVR trade goes, 100% in favour of that but, I doubt the Canes would be. I'm all for trading spare parts for starting NHL RHD any day.

Just curious, what makes you think that Carolina would have interest in a package of 4th liners and an AHL defensman? That would take up an additional four SPC's within their system.

All in all, TVR is an upgrade over Cody Ceci and comes in at about half of his AAV, so, that makes sense to me for sure.

This is the most Typical response from casual leafs fans and I do not get it. Any nhl rhd is better than the leafs. And no... tvr is not even a sideways move. Watch him play.

I will admit, Ceci is not the best, but his play in the last few games have not been nearly as bad.

For the last GD time... I have nothing against Cody Ceci. Try listening instead of just hearing. HE MAKES TOO MUCH MONEY TO BE A BOTTOM PAIRING RHD ON THIS LEAFS TEAM!!!!

TVR is a decent bottom pairing RHD at half of the salary of Cody Ceci. By making a move like this, Ceci out and TVR or similar in, the Leafs open up the cap space that they need to acquire an NHL calibre back up goalie which they currently do not have.

And before all of you Homers start with the "team has to play better in front of their backup crap", sometimes you just need a damn save!

Take off the blinders and start listening instead of just refuting things because they don't line up exactly to your own views and opinions.

If Cody Ceci made 1.9 million dollars a year, he can play on the bottom pairing every night as far as I am concerned. He doesn't. Start accepting the reality of the situation.

And what team(s) are lining up to help the leafs with our cap situation?...

For 99% of the season I would describe him as average. Which contrary to popular opinion is not horrible.

Okay, I will try and ask this in a different way....

1. Is Cody Ceci a "top pairing" defence-man? (Not in deployment, in skillset).
2. Do the Leafs have an NHL quality backup?

Please answer if you can. Thanks in advance.

No takers? Didn't think so. Most Blue-Gogggled Leaf fans would rather accept mediocrity and just be cheerleaders over change for the better. As expected.
