In this scenario, bring back Bernier at least. Gives some measure of insurance and a goalie to expose in the expansion.

The Detroit trade doesn't really make sense for either side.

It'd be unwise for Pittsburgh to give up on Murray this early, and Detroit shouldn't trade Mantha under any circumstances

Mantha is turning into an elite power forward in the NHL. They aren't moving him for a struggling goalie and struggling top 6 winger that's hitting UFA in July. AND to add Cholowski, a promising young D?! No way DET even thinks about this trade.

Wings lose in this trade. They get a goalie who us struggling and a UFA forward who does not sign and in return they give up the best player in this deal in Mantha and a promising defenseman. No Thanks.
