7 years of the worse goalie, the worse dman and a 1st. If it were 2010-2011, and Price AAV was 5+ mil, maybe. It's 2019-2020, and Price has 6+ years at 10 mil AAV, couldn't be given away...

Exactly! Price has negative value when you consider his outrageous salary. Also, when you allow 23G in your last 5 starts you're not gonna have a whole lotta trade value. 16GA vs. NJD, NYR, and CBJ-Not exactly the Oilers of the mid 1980's, are they?

No. Sakic is one of the shrewdest GM’s in the NHL. Still love the haul Colorado got fo a player who didn’t want to play for them.

I personally agree with you... HE IS NEGATIVE (or we are all negative in MTL after last night!)
but across the ligue he is still persuit like the big thing!

Its crazy how sakic went from a punch line of jokes to one of the top GMs int he league as soon as Roy left the Org....even his pick ups of Burakovsky, Donskoi, Kadri this year...finding guys like Nieto on waiver wire. He has assembled one heck of a team and his trades have been on point (only the Brassard rental really sucked but thats just rental trades in general)

I still think he's a top 5 Goalie in the league. But when you factor in his cap hit he's not top 25.

The Kadri trade was a great hockey trade that most GM's never would've made. But, Sakic knew how great Makar was and how great a value Kadri was.

they went after Panarin and once they missed, they shifted their focus moving that money around getting Kadri, Donskoi, Wilson, and Bellemare. The barrie trade would have happened regardless but I would imagine it wold have been for futures if they got Panarin vs a 2c if they did sign Panarin

It has all worked out in the end. Kadri is so damn good and I wouldnt have realized that until I saw him watching him on you team every game. Once the Avs are healthy and not missing 5 forwards (Landy, Mikko, Bura, Wilson, Calvert), they are going to be a problem

Even that deal wasn’t too bad. It cost them a 3rd, and that is the price adding depth for a deep playoff run. Watched the Avs smoked the Hawks yesterday, with two of their best players out yesterday. As a Hawks fan, embarrassing. Speed is king in the new NHL. Colorado is well on their way to restoring glory. When the team is healthy, lots of depth.

I all agree with you guy's that trading Price is not easy and with is salary probably no team would jump on it...
but this is a game here...
Zado will become RFA and will request 5M/y = He doesn't worth it I think
Gruby as another year before hitting FA and many team will go after him with a cost around 6-7M...
So basically would you prefer 11M between Zado + Grub or Price?

Kadri is amazing defensively & offenseively... with alot of grit... Toronto underestimate is value.

Kadri was relegated to a depth role after the Leafs signed Tavares. He was an excellent 2nd line C and PP fixture.
