Not trying to be a @as but do you think Hughes is worth all that. When I think of guys worth that I think of guys who put the team on their back and score at will. Ovi, Pasternak, McDavid. So my question is how good will Hughes be.

From a neutral perspective, I think it will be atleast Kotkaniemi and another high level prospect to start the discussion. Hughes is on a different level than Kotkaniemi, and its not particularly close. Although it might not cost KK Primeau and Brooks altogether, Poehling would be the centerpiece of the deal above, and he is nowhere near Hughes, because chances are Tatar leaves when his contract is up, Juulsen doesn't look like a player, and that 1st round pick would be the only other enticing option, but who knows what the lottery/draft pick holds. All in all, no chance NJ trades Hughes. They got lucky enough to move up to grab him and its looking like they will have another high draft pick to pair with him for the future, but if they were to, the trade starts with the player closest in value to Hughes, and that is either Domi or KK, and I think they would prefer the younger of the two.

There is absolutely no reason for NJ to move Hughes. He's 18, he's played less than a third of a season after being 1OA. Why would you trade him?

Hughes has yet to complete a full lap around the sun as a legal adult so it might be premature for NJ to consider trading the #1 pick from last years draft...

As a Habs fan I would do KK+Primeau+Tatar For Jack Hughes or Domi, KK and 1st and 2nd for Hughes and Hall as a rental
