THANK GOD "this will never happen." Hall and Toffoli walk this summer and you would have ruined this team for the foreseeable future. Much too risky. You probably won't be a playoff team this year, so use another high draft pick to get another great prospect.

Absolutely right on both points. You need Rickard Rakell, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Brock Boeser, or their equivalents. Good luck getting them, though.

Trading for Taylor Hall strikes me as just as bad an idea as signing him as a free agent would be a good idea. Having him this season doesn't turn you into a contender and if he walks, you've invested substantial assets in a passing fancy. (See Winnipeg, twice.). Stay the course and keep building.
