Pens take that and run. Risto would be such a good and affordable replacement for schultz. The pens could then trade Schultz for a pick and/or forwards better than both Galchenyuk and ZAR

Galchenyuk hasn’t fit in well and ZAR has trouble hitting a wide open net.

And Risto is overrated and Hickey isn't needed

ZAR has had Selke level defence this year, but nobody wants to hear that bc he doesn't put up a PPG (bc somehow points=defence...?)

How is he overrated though? No one I’ve seen on here seems to like the guy and thinks he sucks lol. And honestly think he’d be better in Pittsburgh than in buffalo.

People just like jumping on bandwagons so they can fit in and seem cool. Id still rather they not moved Risto, but Buffalo really needs a (hopefully top 6) forward that can score

He’s literally a 4th liner. The only reason he has averaged 14 minutes per game is because the penguins have played a whole 5 minutes this season with 100% of the roster.

A. Roughly 40 mins, B. Since when was toi a good stat to judge player ability, and C. Do you not remember the time he spent on the second line with Geno last year... There was a reason for that, he's competent defensively

Fit in and seem cool because a lot of people have the same opinion about a player? His biggest asset is scoring and putting up points and he 9 points. John Marino has more goals and points than him and he's a fraction of the cost.

A. Clearly an exaggeration, but still under a full game. B. Since it’s easier to play Selke level defense playing with bottom 6 minutes than top 6 minutes. C. What good did that do since the other two players on that line were dumpster fires on D and were well into the minus? We have plenty of players who are competent defensively. Like Simon for example, still wouldn’t want him in a top 6 role. Most 3rd and 4th liners are competent defensively. That’s why they get most of their zone starts there

ZAR is getting most of his starts vs other teams top lines, and yeah.... There's no helping Geno and Kessel defensively

I’ve always thought his biggest asset was his big body and ability to hit. The guys always had slightly higher defensive zone starts than offensive zone starts. If his biggest asset is his offense, then maybe buffalo is just using him wrong and he’s not really overrated?

Even if his biggest asset his a big body and hits, whats the point when they already have that with Jack Johnson? And then youre trading a forward who uses his body and plays well on the boards

And?? So is Blueger and Tanev...you act like Lafferty couldn’t replace him, who also has more offensive production too in less games.

No, every stat says that ZAR has been miles ahead of them defensively

Risto has improved this season, once again I see evidence that Risto needs a partner of a certain type, then he just plays well, not without errors of course, but they are usually less when he plays in tandem with a certain player.

Because Risto is better than JJ. Much better. Also better offensively.

And he also costs more and has less production than players already on the team
