I'm the first to go to bat for Zucker, I think he's very underrated, but Burakovsky has been putting up better numbers this season, is younger, and cheaper. Don't see MIN doing this trade, or at the very least wouldn't be throwing in a 1st. If anything, maybe MIN throws in something.

Not with the first going the other way.. burakovsky is a pure shooter, when they use him correctly he could put up 20-30 goals

If the Wild are going to move a forward, I'd think it wouldn't be for another left shot forward.

Don’t see Colorado doing this. The Avs had enormous depth offensively. If anything Sakic will find a veteran defenceman who was been through trenches to solidify their D as they prepare for a long playoff run. This team has the tools to go deep this year.

I think you are failing to see the greatness of a entirely left shot team. Lol. I'm a fan of Burakovsky just figured I would see how attached the Avs were to him.

What would Avs be willing to give up for Brodin IYO?

I dont think Avs would want to give up anything for Brodin. They are pretty set on D as it is, it would be a move for the sake of doing a move.
Next year even after one of Zads or Cole moves on (Traded Zads, Cole not Re-Signed) their d core is still

Girard Makar
Byram Johnson
Graves (Cole or Zads)
Timmins

I dont see any desire for Brodin unless they are swapping Zads or Cole for him

I have to agree the Avs are a pretty stacked team with some very nice assets in the system. It was just suggested that Avs may want a more experienced d man for the playoffs, probably not a bad suggestion.

going into the playoffs this year, for sure they could add a Dman rental. But I dont see them trading for Brodin, I could see them going after Hamonic who is a pure rental, RHS, and kills a lot of penalties. TO me thats the more ideal TDL Dman pick up

Burakovsky is younger and is outperforming Zucker. Why would COL swap them and give up a 1st rounder too? This is a non-starter imo

He is outperforming Zucker (Statistically) on a far superior team, and Burakovsky is having his best year.
Zucker is more proven and I for 1 would love to see what he could do on a more offensively dynamic team. That said Burakovsky and a 1st was always unlikely, but I like to start by asking for too much rather than not enough.

I would be ok with trading for Zucker but I wouldn't give up Burakovsky+ to do it. Most I would do is a top 10 protected 1st and a prospect like Greer

I think thats a bit too much. I was thinking more of prospects like Kamenev, Morrison, Greer, Henry, Lewis, O'Connor

I think the Wild would need more than that especially considering they would be trading him within the division. Ideally I would like to see the blues and Avs in a bidding war, not because they need him but because they don't want the other to have him. Probably a pipe dream.

STL would have trouble with cap space if they got Zucker and kept Pietrangelo. I think COL would just go after Kreider instead if the price for Zucker was a 1st + Recent 1st round pick

Not seeing the Wild play this season, my answer would be a dart thrown at dart board. First parting with Borodin would come at TDL, as Borodin as been one of the Wild’s best defenders, averaging 21 minutes per game. A player or players would need to pick up the slack from a departing Brodin.

I am at the disadvantage of elevating Brodin’s value (any Minny fans be kind) What I would consider imperative for the Wild is to acquire younger players. I pick J.T Compher and Josh Anderson for Brodin. If it absolutely necessary to have a replacement for Brodin’s spot, then Ryan Graves replaces Anderson.

I chose Compher cause he has speed. He can be center or a winger and is responsible away from the puck. He is 24 with a cash friendly salary and there can upside. Anderson is 21, still in his ELC, so it can a wait and see approach as well as an affordable defender for the Wild. Graves is 24, and to be offered a new contract next season, although he hasn't had a lot of pro experience. I would gamble on Anderson.

I tried to view this trade as realistic as possible. First, if the Wild were “desperate” to move Brodin, it would be I think a rebuild. He is at that stage in his career where moving him would be difficult, as it would take time to replace his level of skill. Second, I evaluated who the Avalanche would be deemed untouchable.

A player who Colorado could pursue on the back end is Alex Martinez winner of two cups. The Avs give up a draft pick and maybe a prospect. That is the kind of veteran experience I am thinking about.
