No it was trade Ceci and Zaitsev...right or wrong was get long term cap relief. The non signing Hainsey (or Gardiner) was the result when Nylander, Marner and Matthews were paid 4.5m too much.
Who knew? I knew. A steady Hainsey allowed Reilly to play recklessly offensively. Ceci got much of the blame for the poor play of the Reilly/Ceci pairing. But really It's Reilly's poor defensive play has stood out this season. But on CapFriendly it's been the unfounded urban legend...Ceci is to blame for the Leafs defensive faults.

I think there is enough blame to go around. Ceci is just a small portion of a larger problem that the Leafs have with their defensive game overall. It certainly isn't his fault directly that the group is bad without the puck. That distinction needs to be shared team wide.
