Why on earth does OTT trade for an expiring contract goalie that only helps make their draft slot worse?

Plenty of other teams to choose from.

Stop with pool party. We don't need another middle 6 winger, and agree with the above comment, no team that is not in playoffs will take on Crow or Lehner. That said, either should be worth a 1st to a playoff team. Carolina being the obvious place.

I think Crawford ceiling is a second with his injury history, but otherwise yeah.

I agree with this comment, but you could do conditional terms for games played or whatever. No one should expect the acquiring team to ignore his injury history. I'd scale it. Not intentionally trying to make him a complicated trade, but his history almost demands a complicated scale. Even something lower like a 4th as the base then, 3rd, 2nd, 1st with other hurdles being met.

***edit*** I also dont think JC gets fired yet. Yeah I've read Keith was (inside the organization) vocal about the direction of where JC was taking them, but he's really only had 1 year so far. I dont think Rocky will waste that money...AND... who's out there to replace him??? Babs isnt the solution. Peter's obviously isnt the solution.

I don’t know, I think Peters is the perfect coach to whip them into shape?

Too soon? Yeah probably.

I know it will probably be forgotten about. But Bowman's solution to "Rockford" situation 10 years ago was to send Alieu to the ECHL. I'm finding Bowman's malice to Alieu and the Hawk organization more repulsive than Peters. Seems like Bowman and Peters are tied together in Rockford. Maybe the Hawks can save a few bucks (and get better) by firing Bowman without penalty.

Peters and Babcock will never coach in the NHL again. I can't critique Peters' coaching, but Babcock is a terrible coach.

That’s not how the situation unfolded to my understanding.

Here is a very brief synopsis of what happened in RFD to my understanding

BP: Tells Alieu to stop playing *** Music in the locker room.

BP: possibly confronted by other players, possibly apologized (conflicting info here, but my guess is that he said it and never apologized or brought it up again)

Some time passes (1 week)

In practice one day BP gets on Alieu’s a** and Alieu says “Don’t f****** talk to me”

BP rights a letter to hawks leadership asking him to be sent down (not admitting what he did, and probably citing behavioral issues)

10 years later

BP is cancelled

(Which was the right move imo)

Thanks for the clarification.

I was of the understanding that Bowman knew of some of Peters/Alieu's "discussion" from Alieu.

It’s hard to know what really went down, it was over 10 years ago and people will lie to cover themselves.

Obviously a sensitive subject and we'll never know 100% of the truth. I hope other players stood up on behalf of Alieu. (Vague/Conflicting/Unproven/10 year old sources on this topic) He (and all prospects) are NOT in a position of power. They're just looking for a chance to make their NHL dream come true. For Peters to use that to further demean anyone...well...he was rightfully fired. I haven't heard him deny any of it.

I also think we can't lose sight of just how recently some of these things changed either. The Hawks dropped the stripper song in 2014. The Hawks banned the Devante Smith-Pelley guy and tried to promote Devante's organization for inner city hockey at the Fort Dupont Ice Arena in 2018. Suspended Shaw for his homophobic comments in 2017. Peters was before all of this. Sooo….I'm hopeful what Stan is saying is true because I want that to be true, but I really don't know. Hopefully this behavior is gone for good.
