To me, Staal is Backes 2.0 in the making (or Nash, or...) - so I'd pass. Additionally, a "6 for 1" trade netting a 35-yr old 'former, former' is just blatantly off-side, no video review needed.
Werenski for Grizz is kinda the same IMHO, almost sideways move. I said almost. Yes I think Werenski's better but not to the tune of Grizz, +____, +_____, +_____., if I'm the GM.
The value in ZW and/or Grizz will multiply if Krug decides not to sign and is dealt at TDL or retained for playoffs, and walks year-end.
Moreover, the draft this year is supposedly deep and I think it's better to keep the early round picks...
