Isles decline. Wahlstrom is borderline untouchable. It’s fair in terms of value considering Gallagher is an elite 5 v 5 goal scorer, but wahlstrom is the perfect winger for barzal and it just doesn’t make sense to move him.

Gallagher is not going to be traded even if we start tearing it down. I would want a 1st round pick or Tatar. Ideally we could get Hague and a 1st for Petry and something small.

The Isles accept that trade and start laughing the moment they hang up. Gallagher is a two time 30 goal scorer and one of the grittiest players in the game. Teams don't trade guys like that.

Trading Tatar and Petry I get, but Gallagher !

He's one of the only guys you know will never stop fighting no matter how bad the odds are. He's part of the solution.

Great, he only has 1 more year left on his contract after this season. The islanders aren't trading their best forward prospect for a year and a half of Gallagher. They have to sign Barzal, pulock, and toews next season and they need players producing at a high level on their ELC.

you know nothing is sure, getting Gallagher for a year and a half at 3.75M is a bargain

It is a bargain, he's on a contract way below his market value. I just don't see the islanders doing this. They're more likely to offer 2020 1st, bellows, and bode wilde than wahlstrom IMO

That's true but I'm just really scared of going back to having a team that just goes through the motions and crumbles all the time.
