offers for Perreault

Created by: WhereArtTLuongo
Team: 2019-20 Winnipeg Jets
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 1, 2019
Published: Dec. 1, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
If Perreault was on the table what would you offer for him. Winnipeg would probably be looking for a young middle 6 winger with less cap or a draft pick or perhaps a prospect. Also note that Gudbranson got an AHL player and a Seventh with similar cap with no retention and since Perreault is better than him I would also prefer not to retain unless if there is a decent offer, then it can perhaps be made to work. Offer away!

We’re not gonna get much for Perreault tbh, maybe a mid round pick and a meh prospect but that’s about it. Also we need him right now, we have a 4th line of AHLers so losing any forward depth would really hurt us.

Actually, long story short this isn't from the current Jets perspective, this is from the perspective of a canucks AGM I've been working on since June in which I traded Tanev for Perreault and a couple of picks. So for my AGM this is from a Canucks perspective.

given how different your team is from last year with many new faces wouldnt you want to invest in your Prospect over players in their mid 30's playing bottom 6?

Perrault isnt great but with cap retained you could probably get a young player in return with a pick if you're not picky .

something like Ho-Sang and a 5th for Perrault retained at 50% or Hudon and a 3rd

you wont get much more then prospects who are still RFA's but have had no success in their current systems who are now waiver eligible .

Like sure I’d trade him at the deadline if we’re not close to making the playoffs, but as of now we’re still in the fight for the central playoff spots so we shouldn’t trade him for futures yet. Also we can’t trade him right now since we’re running a full AHL line as our 4th line due to injuries, we can’t lose any NHL forwards right now.

You're debating with a Habs fan who says Perreault isn't great but would write an essay about how amazing Paul Byron is, save your breath.. Lol

The Jets need Perreault, it isn't even debatable, the Lowry line can barely score as it is, subtract Perreault from it and it gets even worse, if anything the Jets need another player similar to Perreault, never should of traded Armia!

The Canucks don't need Perreault, they have plenty of good middle and bottom 6 wingers. The Jets need Perreault far more than they need Tanev actually.

then what?

when you were a complete team it wasnt good enough to make a SCF .
so your game plan now hinge's on Perrault a bottom 6 forward or the seasons a wash?

if MTL suffered a massive roster change like WPG just did back in summer of 2014 and we've been re-tooling /re-building ever since (or whatever the term they use this year is . )

WPG have a butchered D group and aging Core Group of players .
They do have youth to build on but not all them seem to be stepping up to take advantage .

i wanna make the playoffs but if our playoff hopes hinged on Nate Thompson i'd trigger a full blown rebuild

you're awfully mature .

you disagree fine but atleast be a man and do it directly .
how you carry yourself says more about you then anything else

Aging core? Wheeler is the only old player right now, they hardly have an aging core.
