Dimitrij Jaskin being top-5 in points in the KHL probably tells you who’d win this game. Honestly feels like the quality of play in the KHL and Russia as a whole has deteriorated lately. The last player who was drafted and developed in the KHL system and became an impact player was Buchnevich.

NHL wins easily. Just imagine what would happen if you assembled the best blue line the NHL could offer.

Russia is finally producing some great goalie prospects, but the quality of young skaters is not where it used to be. They used to be 2nd in the world after Canada, but in the last decade they've been outmatched by countries like USA and Finland.

The 2020s should be a fascinating time in international hockey. There are a couple of promising young programs like Switzerland and Germany that are going to grow into respectable programs.
