Why is MTL paying the highest price for Hall?

I think he goes to COL. They have the assets, the cap space, and a SERIOUS chance of winning it all if they trade for Hall.

but they won't trade mete, their lhd sucks already

Cant imagine he would waive for any team. He has it made there, try to win a cup, then tell them he will only be traded to a specific team is the only way I see them getting Johnson out of there.

I agree. But I do believe NJ would be asking for Johnson or Gourde in return. Both in which would have to waive

Only way this happens is if Hall came with a good resign deal, which isn't gonna happen. 8 game losing streak or not you're not getting a top pairing dman AND a 50+ point winger for Hall.

A team at the bottom of the standings trading for a 28 YO rental winger and paying a premium. A middle of the tier team shouldn't be paying that. I would think a stanley cup contender does that to put them over the top. If we traded Mete and Drouin and squeeked into the playoffs and got eliminated in the 1st round, I would still consider that a loss.

Someone is likely to offer a blue-chip defensive prospect (Byram, Dobson, etc) ... I am guessing that would be the price to beat for interested teams.

My point still stands. A team out of the playoffs shouldn't be paying a premium for a 28 YO winger. He's not a player that is going to turn you from a pretender to a stanley cup contender.

that avs deal is weird, I dont think they would do that bc Graves and Compher are quality depth guys who they value highly and help them win.....I think that trade makes the Avs easier to play against
