Right now, with the way Price is playing and that contract you will not find many if any buyers.

That Price contract is untradable. It has as full NMC, so high chance he declines to move regardless.

You're forgetting how much of an old boys club the NHL is, if price agreed to waive there would be teams interested, the price would be debatable but there are teams who would take a shot at him.

He doesn't even have a .900 SVG. He's making over 10 million until he's 39. No team is going to want that.

I think you under estimate the power of trading for a name in the NHL. Its how Rick Nash still had value when he could barely play 10 minutes a night. I dont think ayone would give anything big for him but I still think there would be a GM that would take the risk

I honesly highly doubt it, but I'd love to get rid of that contract.

Why bother? Flames hang up immediately. Rittich is putting up better numbers at 1/4 the cost.

You sound like the type of gm that would hire Mike Babcock...

He would wave because :
1) CGY have a better team.
2) CGY is close to his home.
3) He is sick of MTL medias.

Which then turns to what does Calgary give up? I would imagine Price wants to know because he will only waive to win a cup. Montreal has to get enough value to consider trading him and Calgary has to give less than what Price would allow.

You realize there's like 20 gms who probably would hire Babcock. Its not like im pointing out anything people dont already know, the NHL is a old boys club who still value names, not saying its right, just stating facts.

That old boys club is dwindling. I’m not saying you couldn’t dump price but you aren’t getting massive value for him.

I know this agm isn’t yours but let’s call Frolik and Thompson a wash. That gives rittich, Hanifin, a 1st and a 3rd for price. No goalie holds that much value certainly not one on a steep contract underperforming.

Ow im not gonna argue his value because its just a waste and I think everyone knows its not anything special anymore. My point was just that the old boys club will give value to players that really dont have any, Price is the prime example for that.
