Genuinely happy for the guy. Mike Vellucci was right to bring him to WBS and help him get his groove back.

forced into a depth move.
That's why it's a 1 year deal. They didn't want to take up that contract space, but they were forced too.
It will be problems later down then line when the NCAA players are looking for contracts.

I always felt sorry for Noesen and his career. I had great hopes for him when he came over in the Bobby Ryan deal. I sincerely hope he makes a contribution to the Pens and it's not too late for him.

He's a nice depth forward, defends nicely but not spectacular on offense. Could be played in a bottom 6 role and on the PK, and for 700k? Yes please.

He earned this contract, regardless of how desperate Pittsburgh might be for depth. I don't know what changed for him, but he hasn't looked like an AHL-level guy this season.

Noesen scored the GWG in game 3 of the 1st round vs. the Lightning in 2018. The gaol was a one-timer from the left circle on a pass from Taylor Hall off the rush. Probably the highlight of Noesen's career.

Noesen has been the best AHL-contracted player in the AHL thus far this season and one of the best players overall in that league. At the NHL he is a depth piece however he has shown in his extended AHL that he does still have some finishing ability and thus could produce in a middle-6 role if given the opportunity.

As others have said, he’s earned it. Good work Stefan - hope you can make it back to the bigs soon.
