All these trades are pretty fair but the Toronto trade. Kap for Crow and Shaw is even. Taking on Ceci is a dump and the Leafs would need to include him and don't see why there is a cost but if there is a 4th rounder is generous, a 2nd it over the top.

Otherwise all fair trades and these players should be moved so we can rebuild/retool.

I don't see Toronto being interested in Crawford as a backup solution. His cap makes deal is too expensive whenever manuevering the cap.

Shaw is a bit up in the air for me. Maybe Toronto would really like thevgrit he brings.

I honestly don't think a lot of these are over reactions. We're technically 1 point out of last place in the west, but LA has a game in hand. (3) of the guys above and pending UFAs. If the Hawks were 1 or 1.5 pieces away...fine. BUT THEY'RE NOT. They need the picks/prospects. Don't let anyone walk away for free. It's a business and more importantly...Toews/Kane/etc... are ADULTS. You earn TDL buying or you earn TDL selling. Stan and Co. should even look listening to Saad (who was outstanding yesterday) offers because this team isn't doing it.

Just sick of the leafs whinging so chucked the 2nd in, originally I actually had our 4th in there but I think the pick if it were to happen would be the balance of the deal potentially.

Salary retained for Crawford should mean they can manoeuvre pretty well and I think Shaw grits something they could do with. A lot of skill and not enough grind in their lineup from what I see. The pick just seals the deal, I put a 2nd but purely from the fact that I see so many leafs overvalue and overpaid to get the deal done smoothly and quickly. on recollection I would probably go no higher than a 3rd though that would be a stretch depending on how the negotiating is going at board level.

Yeah it pains me to consider Saad going particularly as he has been one of our best this year and we gave up the bread man for him but your right he would be another to throw into the mix.

Honestly from the leafs end, I'm just not interested. Sure it works in the short-term, but I'd rather have Kapanen than Shaw + late 2nd/3rd in the long-run.

Im surprised by this tbh, I would have though gaining a solid goalie, a grinder in shaw and a decent pick would be more then enough for Kapanen, the fact that Ceci is being dumped is just a bonus for you.

Its a balance of long-term vs short-term. Short-term is fine, but I don't expect Shaw to get more than 25-30 points in the following years, while Kapanen is good for 45 and maybe more considering his age.
