I think the distinction that needs to be made is that IF Price were traded, we wouldn't be getting back the return that makes moving him worth it. That's why he is untradeable. He's worth more to the Habs than anywhere else at the moment.

Exactly but you had mentioned that because of his stature with the Habs, he wouldn't get traded. I don't think its his stature that is stopping any potential trade.

Its solely the cost of acquiring, not being worth it to us nor the other team that is stopping it. He's not good enough to justify acquiring at the cost MTL wants and the value someone would pay would not be enough for the Habs to be willing to accept.
