Tatar is a 1st + ... if you remove Yama OR the 2nd it is a fair trade (assuming 1st is lotto protected)

The Avs just gave up Carl Soderberg this summer for a 3rd and a 1.5 mil cap dump. Why would anyone want to take a 30 y.o. guy on pace for 16 pts this year and has surpassed 40 pt once in his entire career at 3.4 mil for 3 more years, for a 2nd and a 4th? And, they say we're all high here... He is maybe worth a 6th and the Avs would not go for that.

Values are estimate only. There is no such thing as knowing the "true value".

If we all agree Tatar is worth "X" and no one in the NHL is willing to pay that price, is he still worth it?

True value = whatever someone is willing to pay. We can estimate the value based on previous trades but that's no guarantee that it is the real value. Just an outline.

Then you trade none of them. A near PPG winger on a steal of a contract for this year and next is absolutely worth more than a 1st round pick.

At previous TD's 4th line centers got 2nd round picks. I believe we could easily get a 5th + 6th for Thompson.

If we force traded Byron right now, we would be selling low, but Byron's true value is a 2nd + 4th

Soderberg is 34 Years old making 4.75 Million. Byron is still in his prime and can easily fit on most teams top 9.

He's nearly a PPG with 2 years left on his contract. He is definitely worth that.

You’d think mtl is the best team in the league the way you evaluate your players that is awful lmao

I'm not sure why you would say that. Do you want to try and explain why he isn't worth that package? Bottom 10 team in the league and he can still produce like that as well as play defensively sound....

I realize he has value to MTL. Not to the Avs. I would still rather have Soda back. If you are comparing that way. Soda has only dipped below 40 pts once in his career and is on pace to hit it again. Not vise versa. Sorry if this is his prime good luck with that.

I don't really think it's specifically to the Avs, I just picked a team up in the standings. His prime is 40 points and being one of the fastest players in the league

Average player? Cmon dude.

Edmonton's draft pick is likely to be #25-31 and #57-#62.

Yamamoto was a former 1st round pick but so was Michael McCarron. Yamamoto is hovering near being a bust so I thought he would be a low value, high reward option

I never said he was Elite, I just said he's not an average player. I could list "Elite" players that those stats outproduce, but why bother. I already know your response
