Initial Creation Date: Dec. 3, 2019
Published: Dec. 3, 2019

Description
According to some habs fans avs would give up Newhook Timmins and 2 1st round draft picks for an extended hall, talking in absolutes avs would have no issues giving that up

Ok then if that’s what hall is worth to this fan base was giving up this value when it’s your own team

trade makes zero sense for Habs if Hall is a rental (for a team that's not a serious Cup contender)

That’s not the point. That’s what they are saying his valve is. Hall doesn’t make sense for the avs either yet other fan bases argue that they need to trade byram or A huge chunk
Of their top prospects for him

The Avs are primed for a cup run. The Canadiens are not. Theres a difference.

Again that’s not the point, plus hall is not a missing piece for them to make a cup run, when 90% of Avs fans say that on this site yet other fan bases ignore it..around in circles we go

Well despite all empirical evidence, I keep getting told Hall isn't even that good so...

So you're saying Habs fans have been making the trade in which Avs overpays to get Hall???

I think you're being bias at this point just because Habs fans have been making Price trade to the Avs. Fantasy Hall trades were made by different fanbases.

Based on the AGM AVs-Hall trade, the most Avs had to give up for a signed Hall is either Newhook or Timmins and 1st rd pick. Other than that, each Hall fantasy trades (favouring the Devils) from this forum had different teams involved. The majority of the lopsided Hall trades were probably made by Devils fans (not Habs fans) who believe Hall has twice the value of Mark Stone.

Yeah, I get the point some Habs fans tend to make ridiculous trade when their players aren't doing well which it's very annoying. However, I think it's also ridiculous/stupid to assuming the Habs fans are responsible for making AGM post in which Avs overpays for Hall.

P.S. I guess the Nordiques-Canadiens rivalry is still alive Confused

Hall might not be a "missing piece" for Colorado this season. But if you can add him for a prospect who isn't even playing and some picks, it should be considered. Real men, like I assume Joe Sakic is, would have the sack to pull the trigger on a deal like that to get Hall and probably be cup favorites. Put Hall on the 2nd line to keep your first in tact, and your 2nd line is even filthier. Players like that don't come around very often. I realize letting go one of your best prospects is hard, but when you have so many it should be a no brainer for management.

yeah have come across it quitea few times lately....habs fans posting Hall trades for the Avs, or Avs trades with the Habs for Price...their reasoning every time Avs have so many young good players they can afford to over spend to either trade for Hall or Price bc clearly they will win the cup if they do

Its just not true at all and Avs fans are not acceptining of other teams trying to purge their young talented group of NHL or prospects after they have finally built up one of the top in the league and are primed to enjoy long term success.

Plus people are a tone deaf about Halll on the Avs....Avs fans its not as good as afit as you think it is for reasons A-E...other fan bases oh you are dumb let me tell you why hes a fit on y our team even though I dont know about it in detail or indepth

You say real men like Sakic have the stones to do so....yet thats not what sakic is like at all as a GM, he is patient to even he is over patient and lacklustre bc he doesnt do moves for the sake of doing it and will wait it out.

Sakic wouldnt include Makari n Karlsson trade talks, he wouldnt inlude at the time the 4th overall for Stone trade talks, he wouldnt move the 16th overall for Kreider trade talks....evidence is pointing once again he wont be trading Byram or Newhook for Hall trade talks bc that really does go against what Sakic has said what the team and organizations philosophy is

again another fan base talking in absolutes about the Avs and how they do business but really is clueless when it comes to their previous track record. He will wait out until he gets the deal he wants, and dosent get into bidding wars, nothign to this point as shown that he how he will operate. Just cant see him parting wiht multiple top prospects, its just not what he has done at all in the past

here comes the biggest habs homer on the site

OK now explain to me how all the habs prospects are just a cut above. Go on, use your in-depth knowledge to explain how they are not on the same level, back up your analysis

Byram > all habs prospect
Caufield Romanov > all Avs prospects ( not Byram )
Timmins Newhook > Ylonen Poehling
Poehling > Bowers
Bowers = Ylonen
