Seems like you've been doing some version of this time and time again, but you're just missing it. Simply swap Mascherin/Janmark for Robertson. Given the comparable AHL production between Robertson and Mascherin you logically wouldn't have a problem with this.

Also obviously Rangers aren't adding a 3rd, you know that.

Howbout a compromise. Cond 1st (on resigning or reaching Finals) + Robertson. I think you'd rationally agree that's a good deal.

Nah. Robertson's a top winger prospect in this team, worth easily a first for us. He's not going anywhere.

Drop it, he thinks this on other trades too... i just seen him in another topic that Hall will go for 1 million 1st round picks + prospects, becasue he is a "hart winner". Looks like he likes to overpay for everything. There are couple guys here who often doing that. If you started it once. You can't stop. I mean there is overpayments every year. But those are not the majority... Ususally it's a fair deal(every GM tries to do it), if overpayment there is a reason and not just every 2nd trade overpayment for no reason...
Kreider is like worth a 1st + small things like bad prospects...
or a 2nd + alright prospect + maybe some small asset like a 6th...

All in all, i can back up Burger here: Robertson + cond first = huge overpayment...
Cond first +2nd + mediocre prospect, if you want to include first... first picks = huge value... even if it's 20-25th picks.. Kredier = most likely rental = around first round pick full value, then you can divide that to smaller stuff... If some teams offer 1st+2nd pick together they are just bad... but i don't expect that seeing last year's trades.... low values everywhere... not even close to overpayments like you suggesting here...
