We get Boeser AND lose Ladd? Sign me up!

I know Wilde/Wahlstrom/1st/2nd is a lot to give up, but we’d still have Dobson and Boeser would completely replace the loss of Wahlstrom. All we really lose are the picks, but if you’re taking a truly awful contract, that’s fine with me.

This won’t happen because Vancouver doesn’t need the future assets THIS badly. Besides, Boeser is a huge part of their future and they rightly don’t want Ladd on their books for another 3-4 years.

Yeah but the Isles are getting a 22 year old point per game player while keeping unarguably their best prospect in Dobson and getting rid of the Ladd contract. I don't know about you but I think this almost guarantees the Isles a cup this year.

I don't see the Canucks wanting to swallow Ladd's contract while also having Eriksson's to deal with as well.

I think Wilde should always be available for the right piece. Boeser is clearly one of the right pieces to go get. Wahlstrom would more or less be replaced by Boeser, which is obviously an immediate upgrade.

Couple that with losing Ladd, this is a good trade for NYI. I'd take out one of Bellows or two picks (since it's really a lot of pieces), but this is definitely something the Isles would do.

Completely agree with what you said. As for the trade though, it is quite even in all fairness IMO. If you break it down here's how it looks

Motte > Ladd + 2nd (Getting rid of Marleau cost Toronto a First but here I'm giving you Motte and only taking a second back for getting Ladd).
Eliot = Bellows (Not in terms of draft value but in terms of production in the AHL and their age, it is quite Even Steven).
Boeser < Wahlstrom + Wilde + First (Boeser gets a little more than he's actually worth to make up for taking on Ladd and only getting a Second back).

What do you think of the trade now using this breakdown?

This breakdown definitely makes more sense, but I think we can take out Bellows and Eliot.

I really want Bellows to be part of the deal too though because the Canucks definitely need some grit. Bellows and Eliot are quite even production wise right now in the AHL so I guess it still probably works right?
