Description
Im just curious if theres a RW that is looking like a player who could make the jump right from the draft? How many spots would a package of the Bruins 2020 1st and Grizz jump up BOS on the board? Are there any guys who will be there late in the 1st round? I dont know much about prospects. I did really simple research just looking at rankings. Im sure there is but idk if any Bs fans on here that really look at upcoming draft prospects. Just curious about it and the idea of moving up in the draft this summer.

You’d need to get into the top 10 if not top 5 to have a chance for getting a player who can jump straight to the NHL. That package probably doesn’t get you there unless it’s like 16th OA, but I don’t see Boston being under 20th OA this year.

I don't think there is unless you believe in Raymond or think you can get the first overall pick. although JP should be close to and a 1st should get him if the oilers don't find a prospect they like. Now i know a bunch of people are gonna say he's a bust and only a 20 point scorer. I think JP is around a 40 point scorer with 15-20 goals. The reason everyone considers him a bust is because everyone thought he would be the top line winger to play with McDavid

Yeah I wasn't sure whose considered "ready". Wasn't sure if there was another guy like Pastrnak in this years draft. But I feel like a lot of guys in the first round has the opportunity to go from just a prospect to a NHL regular in their rookie year. Just depends how they fit and adjust to the pro level during camp.

I know Pool Party still holds value but idk what I'd be willing to give up for him. It seems his ceiling went from being a 1st liner/high end second liner to mid/low end 2nd liner to high end 3rd liner. With the right team I think his ceiling is still high but his overall value across the league has dropped for sure.

@oilnate has a point, I'd say your best bet is picking up Puljujarvi. Trading your 1st for him wouldn't be the worst risk, especially since Bruins are poised to go for a deep cup run. He has the size and skill, he just needs a system and a mentor. Maybe pick up a Koivu or a Finnish vet of sorts in the offseason. There is no need to force young kids to step into such a big role. Especially since the Bruins aren't hurting that bad.

While there are no sure things.
Noel Gunler may be available later that the top 5.
He is talented sniper that could could anywhere after 8-14 range.

Pasta didn't exactly light it up his rookie year. He was on pace for a mid-40's session if he played all 82 game. It rant until his 3rd season that he exploded.

Moving grzelcyk is a really bad idea. He’s virtually guaranteed to represent great value contractually because he’s undersized. I think the purpose of this is to try to get an impact player on his ELC for cap purposes? A better move would be to trade for an existing player on their ELC rather than a draft pick in my opinion.

Use Grizz to add an established young RW on his ELC instead if that’s the route you are going to take. Less risk.
