I get not liking JJ but trading away Legere and a 2nd for Kovalchuck?? At least trade for someone better if you are gonna give that up. And Rust is not being traded.

That's just a sweetener for LA to take on those couple more years plus the retention on Kovi.

Even at 3 million, that kovy contract is a dump. The kings will still have to pay to get rid of him. Jack Johnson is actually playing well this year too, there is no reason to “dump” him and waste assets.
