I think they are closer to firing both or one of their GM and/or coach before this deal happens.

Big if true. Could explain why they sent down Olofsson.

They sent down Olofsson because he's been beyond useless.

I don't see that making sense from Philly's perspective... not really in need of more centers.

There is no link, it's coming from a guy who talked about it on a sports radio show last night after the game. Martin McGuire is his name, it's on twitter, let's not get ahead of ourselves.

Martin McGuire sounds like a made-up human...

My dad had a couple too many eggnog's last night and was saying last night that the Habs are close to acquiring Auston Matthews, but backtracked this morning.

Edit: Apparently he works for 98.5 FM radio...didn't realize radio was still a thing...

Oh hey Martin McGuire...I see that you've created a capfriendly account...Jordan Weal straight up makes a tonne of sense. Gives Philly a 13th forward, which they need, and Montreal gets the top pairing LD that they need.

Good trade.

annnnd Philly gets back a player that they are familiar with in Weal, maybe throw in Cousins to really sweeten the pot

lol but i was saying Weal for Matthews 1 for 1. To try and keep with the ridiculous Habs fan trade values.

Ahhhh. Both make sense to me. Weal gives Toronto a cheap depth option, and the Leafs clear $10 or so mil off of their payroll to sign Mike Green this summer.

I stopped believing anything rumored from people on the radio in Quebec a long time ago. If its not from Pierre Lebrun or Renaud Lavoie its 99.9% not worth your time. Francois Gagnon is sometimes ahead of the curve but in most cases the first two guys already reported it.
