Team: 2019-20 New York Rangers
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 4, 2019
Published: Dec. 4, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Nylander an obvious upgrade over Strome. DeAngelo (3 years of Control) and Kreider help make up the difference on Rangers end.

With Nylander still having the most control of all involved, Rangers take on Ceci's bad Contract, and forego any extra Picks that would have been required with Bracco for Georgiev.

Leafs are not trading Nylander. I think that should be pretty clear to everyone.

Besides Deangelo is now Seth Jones so it’s Matthews plus...

Haha until next year when they have no cap room. He has to go.

Exactly. I am well aware he is an incredible talent, but your payroll can't stay so lopsided. Outside of Reilly, they have no money left on Defense into next Season. With a bunch of huge Contracts amongst their Forwards. Something has to give.

They had to give up a 1st this year just to get rid of 1 year of Marleau. While Dubas has done a good navigating the Cap, it hasn't been without making sacrifices.

Sammy and TML are just dreamers. THey live in a fantasy world where leaf players are the best and sign under market value and no such thing as cap. Also, dubas is a god and can make anything work. ANd Babs is the best coach in the world. Ohh wait not anymore he is terrible.

What if it was like Johnsson, Kerfoot, Hyman or Kapanen instead?

I am open to a counter proposal. I don't think the Rangers are as interested in Kerfoot, but some of the others (especially Johnsson, who could take over for Kreider) would be of interest. Probably end up being a very different looking deal, though.

It would take more than Johnsson to get Kreider (remember the namestnikov trade with inflated stats-- no repeats). Any of the players he mentioned are at most putting up 30 points on the rangers.
These players are a dime a dozen and I'd rather have the top 6 wingers be Panarin, Kakko, Buch and Kravtsov.
That's not mentioning our most likely top 10 draft pick this year (and you could easily argue the top 6-7 are NHL ready), our upwards trajectory prospect in Barron (6G 7A in 9 games for Cornell), and continued interest in Puljujarvi.
Not the types of players we need in return.

ADA increased his value dramatically with the first quarter of the year (and he's still an RFA), Strome has increased his value with 23 points in 26 games (actually producing at a higher rate than Kevin Hayes last year-- i doubt we get that type of return though), Kreider is just kreider and will probably get a good return just because his size, speed and overall game (honestly he has more value than Rick Nash when we traded him although Nash had/has the bigger name).

We'd be better off stockpiling picks this year as the draft is absolutely stacked and we will need cheap contracts to fill out our roster in 2-3 years when we want to contend for the cup
