Why is everyone thinking Montreal will trade Poehling for future picks? What sense does that make...

Offer that for just Tatar and we have a real conversation

Petry is worth alot more than that retained

no doubt. he has been a 20 goal scorer ever year that he has played(except his rookie year). I am not even sure MTL should be trading him at this point. 20 goal scorers aren't just sitting around these days

Only way we trade him is if we aren't going to make the playoffs.
2 Years left and his value is truly at it's highest it will be.

But you're right. He makes up on of the better lines in hockey and his play is top notch right now.

Not gonna happen. Samorukov is worth a 1st and JP is probably worth a late 1st*. Tatar isn't worth 1st + 1st + 1st.

*In a re-draft Puljujarvi would be a mid-1st rounder. Only 12 guys from his draft have outscored him at the NHL level.

Samorukov is worth a 1st? He has 3 points in 19 AHL games. Puljujarvi definitely isn't worth a 1st with that piss poor attitude.

He requested a trade, what's wrong with that? We don't know why so I'm not going to speculate, but I'll leave you with this: if Akim Aliu had requested a trade 10 years ago you'd have accused him of having a "piss poor attitude" too. There's more to the Puljujarvi story than you know.

Well no wonder the Oilers haven't traded JP, they think they are getting a first for him? No chance, unless Chai pet is running a team that is trading the 1st for him.
What has Samorukov done to have value as a 1st round pick?

Montreal rejects first trade.

I'd say they reject 2nd trade too

Samorukov was outstanding for Guelph after Merkley was traded, Holland got a lot of calls about him this past summer.

I'm not doubting people were/are interested in them, but still would be really really shocked if a team would give up a 1st straight up for either of them.
as for JP, like I said, I would shocked again if someone would give a first for a player that is barely an NHL player at this moment. he could barely stay in the line up in Edmonton. Edmonton had one of the weakest and thinnest wings last season....still do.

Lets put it this way, you have a better chance at getting a higher pick for Samorukov then you do JP at this point. everyone knows what Jp is, we have watched him for 2 seasons. Atleast Samorukov has the possibility of the unknown happening for him.
