Honestly? I'm not sure if that's the exact deal (Toronto might need to add a bit). But I think Kapanen can fill in that top-6 and would make a great linemate for Panarin with his speed.

How do the Rangers keep Deangelo? They have so much money tied up into defence for next year and have a 6 million buyout penalty. Deangelo has to be unhappy he did not get a raise last year and will absolutely be looking for one next year. I think he has arb rights and is going to ask to get paid. Trouba is clearly their #1 RHD and Fox is playing well enough to slide into that second role and will be cheaper longer. I would bet he's a guy they are looking to move, maybe it's not for Kapanen but I have to think they're at least considering it.

Leafs probably have to add a forth or a B prospect in the Rangers deal, here's the reality Georgiev has to play 1 more game and he is no longer waiver exempt and they have a better prospect in goal that has a deadline to play in the show or he can walk back to the khl
