Zero chance Tampa trades Sergachev, highly unlikely Carolina gives up a first for Svech

      Trading Sergachev is absolutely possible

Tampa is in cap hell net summer, Without moving one of Johnson, Palat or Killorn they're in salary cap hell once Vasilievsky's contract kicks in. No way can BriseBois afford AA long term he's probably still looking at a 6 x 6 contract Tampa is the very last team that can afford to take on AA and his new contract. Segachev can definiely be moved but not in a deal for AA.

FWIW Nielsen has said that he has no desire to return to the Islanders, So pretty sure they're on his no trade list then.

"Zero chance" being traded applies to a handful of players in the NHL. Sergachev is not one of them. I'll admit that the value going the other way might not get it done, but Sergachev is not untouchable.

There is a 2nd round pick included in the Svechnikov trade, so Carolina would essentially be acquiring a former 1st round pick, and moving back around 20 spots in the draft. I wouldn't say highly unlikely.

FWIW You're at least $1 million AAV under for both Bertuzzi and Mantha Bertuzzi could easily land between $5.5 million to $6.0 million per over 6 or 7 years and Mantha probably gets closer to $7.5 million for 8 years or so.

Athanasiou will not get $6M AAV. This is a moot point, since Sergachev is likely to get as much or more than Athanasiou on his next contract.

Sergachev easily can be made available, So not true. Doubt he'd get moved for AA though especially seeing that i seriously doubt Tampa can afford him long term and all. But he's definitely available for the right price.

FWIW I disagree. Yzerman will sign both to long term, team friendly deals.

Dude, I know who his agent is. Doesn't mean Yzerman (or any other GM) will cave to his ridiculous demands. You don't think there's any way a 21 year old defenseman that is outproducing a 25 year old winger gets more on his next contract? Ok "dude"......

Is there ever a reason for players to agree to long term team friendly deals? It happens all the time. Why are Anthony Mantha and Tyler Bertuzzi the exception?

Is this 2017 or something? Sergachev is 100% movable. This is an overpay for him.

Not long term no, Sergachev might get a similar deal the Werenski signed like 3 x 5. And i'm not saying Yzerman will offer AA big money but some crazy GM like Holland might. AA is probably dealt at the TDL or draft with a reasonable extension in place.

laugh Maybe because if both were UFA's now instead of RFA's they both could command far greater salaries then what you're offering them.

Yup, that's exactly the ballpark Sergachev will be looking at. I was between $4.5 - 5M. Athanasiou shouldn't, and likely won't get any more than that. Tampa Bay may not have any interest in a Serg for AA deal, but it won't be because they can't afford him. I may be a tad low on the package going the other way, but change Lindstrom to McIsaac, and/or the 3rd to a 2nd, and that's a very enticing package for BriseBois. That may be a bit too high of a price to pay for Sergachev though.

RFA's have far less bargaining power than UFA's. If they were unrestricted, they would probably get closer to what you're suggesting. Because they're restricted, they will likely get closer to what I'm suggesting.
