Kovi is about to be released. Can sign him for league minimum when that happens. Not that they would want to. Carter is almost washed up and plays like he is uninterested. Had said he’d retire if traded. Which would be the best part of the trade.

Great deal for LA, Not so much for Boston though. No reason for LA to retain on both Kovy and Carter and yet take on Backes full salary. Yeah that's not happening.
