If I'm the Avs, I look at Hall as more of a pure rental. Bring him in to go all in this season, but try to add a bunch of conditional draft picks based on re-signing Hall. You don't have to make it clear you're not going to extend him, but you'd have a much lower price to pay to acquire Hall if you're not acquiring him with an extension in place.

Essentially the Duchene deal with better prospects
