That is ludicrous, why would we need to pay to get rid of an rhd on an expiring contract. If it is because he is so bad please provide proof.

Gag on the trade....one year of Savard costs the Leafs two seconds and Johnsson. Heck Ceci isn't even the Leafs worse Dman. Atrocious for the Leafs.

I'd imagine you could jettison him for less than a less. The bigger problem is finding a team that would have any interest in taking on his salary. There are about 8 teams that can afford his contract. As for proof for how bad he is, 1% expected goals for in the Philly game. He is really not an NHL player.

Ceci is by far the worst Leafs defenceman. He's really not good. He's like Marincin but instead of being okay for most of the game and then blowing himself up once or twice, Ceci just does nothing really well. He's not a steady just do your job defender, he's positionally bad, for a big guy he never seems to box guys out and if I have watch a guy score a goal in the crease while Ceci has his back to the play while feebly pushing some guy that is no where near the puck, I'll lose my mind.

Leafs decline both trades for reasons already stated.
Ceci is not even the worst D man on the Leafs right now, might be overpaid though.

I'm not sure what Leafs games you've been watching but Ceci's D partner(s) (Rielly mostly) have been worse than Ceci has.
Leafs fans are in denial about what Hainsey was doing as Rielly's D partner last season....this season I've realized what he was doing. Hainsey was just older and couldn't cover up every thing going wrong and so he look slow and out of position.

You are out to lunch. Hainsey sucked, Ceci is worse and Rielly is an elite defenceman and has never had an even okay partner. Ceci had the 12th worst game since 2007 from an analytics standpoint, that is 12 out 3000 something.

You realize that was for one game right? Even his advanced stats, although poor, place him above some fairly big names. His GAR for the season so far is still above players like Trouba, Klingberg, Dahlin, Hanafin and dumba. Advanced stats don’t tell the whole story... especially when you pick out a small sample.

Analytics are not everything. Yes they do say something but other things need to be taken into account. I can agree Rielly has not had a proper partner but he specifically is not very good in his own end.

There's no ifs ands or buts about that very last sentence about Rielly. He needs to be better, case closed.

dont you dare to tell publicly Rielly is not No1 D in the League......he has so much points, the stat of primary importance for Dman......

its everything fine in TMLland ( now with Babcock gone ), just lines need to be shuffled, if you state the opposite kids here will eat you live.....and TML fan sheriff and his deputy will came and take your jersey away.....

Lol...this is what I respect you for. Not always staying with the narrative everyone is going along with.

@PleaseBanMeForMyOwnGood it's okay to be a fan of a team and still be critical of said team and it's players. I know it's not very trendy thing here on capfriendly, but it's perfectly fine, you won't get disowned by the team...I promise.

Most fans of teams have blinders on..whether that's for players their team has or players of other teams. Your blinders happen to be on regarding Rielly's play in his own end.

No one will look good with Ceci as his partner. Look at his advanced stats and then look at Rielly over his career with anyone other than Hainsey and Ceci. He's an analytical monster when he's had a decent partner.
