Retooling with Canadiens Leafs and Jets

Created by: chchanges
Team: 2019-20 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 7, 2019
Published: Dec. 7, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Two basic assumptions: Hawks have little chance at playoffs this year and current roster suggests severe cap problem next year even if Maatta is bought out. Hate to see Saad go, but he is the only realistic option.

I like Lehkonen too but I can't imagine he's untouchable.

Sounds crazy, but Saad is an essential part of the top-6; two-way game, aggressive play style, 20-25 goals. My hope is that he’ll do what Jordan Eberle did last offseason and take a bit of a pay cut that better fits his role and we can extend him, although that’s unlikely. Otherwise, unless we’re blown away, trading Saad should be out of the question

Who said that Lehkonen is untouchable... tears of joy tears of joy tears of joy
If we can get any decent player that can score and could play defensively... he is gone!
Saad is the perfect upgrade of Lehkonen... DONE

I wouldn't be trading Saad and I think Mitchell is untouchable at this stage so we wouldn't be trading him.

The Maatta trade, whether its Jets or someone else I can see happening due to his easy buyout.

Not really sure why Montreal would be trading Lehkonen only to get Saad, Saad has more of an offensive side, but I think Lehkonen is more valuable to Montreal than Saad would be.
