My fellow Leaf fans usually get paged for undervaluing players not overvaluing lol. That Manson trade is atrocious. Kreider would be nice but Mango instead of Kap tbh.

Can we get a moratorium on the Leafs trading for Georgiev idea? Odds are if Leafs trade for a backup it’s coming with a team from the west. Teams we’re battling for playoff spots with aren’t going to help us shore up our biggest weakness

Cuz they've Shesterkin also coming... Who might just become better than Georgiev. At least he was one of the best in KHL.

Because he isn’t. Shesterkin is. That’s why. If Lundqvist was on his last year or asking for a trade they’d keep both. But King is signed for another year and Georgie is due a raise next year as an RFA. Taking cap space they will need.

So why would they give us their backup and not keep him?

I just gave you that answer. ??‍♂️

They trade Georgie for futures and not have to give him a raise. Promote Shesterkin who will still be on his ELC next year to split with King for a year before becoming #1 the following year.

Igor not going to be happy if he is in AHL next year. He wrnt 1,68 .935 in 117 KHL games and is 2.04 .927in AHL. Has no need to be there and nothing to prove, he’s ready. Same age as Georgie.

Rangers are not fighting for a WC spot. They are kidding themselves if they think they are.

Teams don’t eliminate half the league to trade with. But they will have plenty of options when they move him.

Yeah the Manson trade might be the worse thing I've ever seen ... and this is coming from a gynecologist.

Exactly and teams also dont impulse trade players just because they have a surplus

It’s not an impulse trade. ?

Trust me, they’d rather move King. Not happening.

They have 3 NHL caliber goalies. Strong market for anyone selling a quality goalie. When i said they have plenty of options I meant trade partners.

Georgie is about to lose his waiver exemption, is due a raise and will likely never have a shot a #1 in NY. They have cap issues. Igor is better and will be cheaper next year. They’d get more for him now then in the offseason when there is a glut of goalies on the market. It’s logical he gets moved. Unless they can convince King to go and find a taker. They’d have to retain half his salary to do that.
