I don't mind it excpet duclair and Kuhlman are the same age and duclair is a pretty established NHLer compared to Kuhlman, so I dont know if it makes sense unless theres a pick or some extra value of some kind in there aswell.

Why on earth does Ottawa do this? Duclair is 24. Has 21g in 51 games for Ottawa. Is under team control being an RFA at years end. They have a ton of cap space. So what makes them trade him for 2 lesser players to a division rival?

C’mon.

I thought about adding a pick. Wasn’t sure if it was too much I was thinking a 3rd or 4th.

i think a 3rd or 4th is selling it short for a guy who still has RFA rights after this year and has 15 goals. Ottawa really gains nothing from this Kuhlman hasnt had an NHL impact at all. Have to more likely be a package of 2nds or a first and some mid round picks. Dont forget a guy like ryan dzingel fetched 2 2nds last year and Duclair is way better than him

Dzingel got two seconds and Duclair ironically. He’s not better than Zinger.

hes way better than dzingel was, and again Duclair is an RFA not necessarily an expiring deal so youre going to have to give up more anyways

Duclair 17g 36pt per 82

Dzingel 19g 42pt per 82

Duclair was in a prolonged slump when he was dealt while Zinger was having a career year on pace for 31g 62pt when he was traded.

I’d take Zinger of the 2 in a vacuum.

I have zero interest in giving up the assets (2nd and prospect is his actual value but it would likely take more) it would take to get Duclair. He’s not really much of an upgrade over the potential of the players we do have that he would be replacing in the lineup.

Not to mention there is no incentive for Sens to trade him anyway.

duclair's on pace for like mid to high 30 goals this season too? (13 in 30) so how would he not get more return than the expiring contract dzingel did last year, considering duclairs and 24 and an RFA at the seasons end. I agree for Boston it doesnt make sense, I dont think he fits and I wouldnt give up the future for him either. All i was saying is to get duclair its going to take more thank Karson Kuhlman, John moore and a mid to late round pick.

I agree it will take more that that.

Sens have no need to move him. They have a ton of picks already and he is under team control. You’d have to blow them away.

He’s not worth the kind of package Dzingel got last year even if he is not a rental.

Since joining the Sens, he's played at a 33G/19A pace. There is little to no (and I stress no) chance that they trade him for that. A rebuilding team with a 24yr old on pace for 36 goals and under team control. That's exactly what a rebuilding team is looking for.
