Look a Boston fan putting Boston center in top-5 where he doesnt belong. LOL
Nope... you see, I believe Bergy should be top 3 (based on facts such as his amazing leadership, terrific defense, grit, skill, etc...) however in NOT being biased, I am willing to accept that Barkov and MacKinnon are still better. So instead of immediately turning to insults, you should ALSO put your biases aside and accept the fact that bery is still a top 5 center

Because he is one of the best centermen in the league that can do everything with whoever. Pretty simple.
Any body who has watched this year and not be bias would have Eichel in top 5. He is carrying his team by himself and has no second line to take pressure off him or anther elite player on his wing. Mathews has been awful this year and same goes for Taveres. For the leafs to be outside of the playoffs right is crazy considering the talent they have. And if you switched eichel with either of the leafs top 2 center he would top 3 in scoring easily and is better defensively then mathews. Bergeon has been hurt so doesnt belong in top five. If he comes back and plays at same level then you could make the arugment.

you named yourself "Bigdog" so anything you say can be discarded. sorry those are the rules.

This is fine, in another post I am in right now I agree that Eichel should be 6, he is playing amazing hockey. Just remember thjat the Sabres do have much more depth this year, again this isnt to shoot him down as he is awesome, but Bergy should still have the edge untill he falls below a PPG
But yes, me and sabres fans and pens fans and etc fans keep teaming up to argue with Leafs fans, and they cant accept that matthews is not a top 5 or top 7 center

Uhm.. you overvalue him and then overvalue him less to make it sound you are not biased? Oh cmon man.. he is up there but not better than Eichel or Matthews. Barkov is easily behind the big-3 so basically you have Matthews, Eichel and Bergeron fighting for top-5 and its pretty damn close. Pick your poison.

Which is why the Islanders are better without him obviously... Lol listen I think he is top 10 dont get me wrong, , but @thatguy has a point
Barry Trotz and management team change want to have a word with you.

Lol I am not overvaluing anyone. You cant undervalue Bergy and Overvalue Matthews and say im overvaluing Bergy. Legit just read through the comments on this post and other "top 10 center" ones today. All of them have 10 ither guys saying that matthews is not top 5, which is the truth. Sorry man... have a good day

Like i said if bergy comes back and plays at elite level then he could be in top five but that being said if falls below a ppg on that top line then he will fall out of the top 50!! Krejci looks like a top 10 center on that line.
The main point is that Eichel has played at different level this year offensively and defensively and deserves to be in at least the conversation of top 5. And matthews being ahead of him is just crazy and only doint that because he was on the leafs. If he played for any other team he would be lucky to make top 10.

Fair, I appreciate you being kind and using facts to support your case. I hope Bergy can keep it up, and I love how well Eichel is playing. We just ALL have to work together to make sure the leafs fans chill with being dicks and calling people idiots for not agreeing with their poor opinions lol. Matthews simply isnt even top 7, and thats a fact. Now my opinion is that he isnt even top 10, but thats my opinion
Lol Bruins fan calling you biased as he does the same thing
He has every right for his opinion. I dont take that away from him. As I said, Matthews is up there close to top-5 and Eichel, Matthews, Bergeron tier is basically a wash.

I think offensively he is top 10 but he has been terrible defensively. With other young players producing at the same or close to same rate and play better 2 way game it can be argued him not being in top 10.
Teams can not just try to shutdown his line like they do with every other top 10 center on that list which should also hurt his case especially with his point totals this year.
- 25th in PPG
- outside the top 10 in Goals per game
- 28th TOI
- 75th Faceoff%
- minus player
- Corsi is good not great.
And watching him live you see that he has heavy boots.
Tavares would be a #1 Center on most teams but he's not a top 10 Center in the league this year.
Thanks for using stats! I appreciate that as I like to look at advanced stats. Tavares was not very good this year (still dominant centerman), thats also correct. But I didnt say its top 10 this year. He scored 47 goals last year and was extremely dominant (again, this year, he hasnt been that dominant). He can do everything and I dont see Scheifele, Seguin, Couturier or other as better centermen. Might that be bias? It might. But I dont see them as better centermen.. would they be? Oh hell yeah.. but they are not there yet in my humble opinion.
