It certainly does make these AGM's easier when you can boost the salary cap like crazy and the other can't say no to trades.

uneducated at its finest... TV deal and expansion team will drive cap up. 3M increase is fair to say the least

now to the trade. a 50 point winger that has the speed to keep up wtih both drais and Mcdavid would be lethal for the price of a top 4 D and a B prospect

Seattle money doesn’t hit till 22/23 season, Edmonton should certainly not make that trade if bear continues to do well.

expected cash flows will play an effect. When seattle jumps in that season expecte the cap to rise higher than its ever raise

Which new TV deal? They aren't getting a new one until after the 21-22 season. Same with expansion, not coming for another year. There is no reason for those things to drive the cap up 2 years before they happen.

The cap CAN go up, the players can increase it up to 5%, which would add another 4 million. However, they have NEVER used that much of a multiplier and are much happier with smaller increases because it helps to eliminate escrow. I would say it is extremely unlikely they boost the cap that much in one offseason, without a contract or expansion team as you said (although those things are not happening right now).

So maybe educate yourself on what "drives the cap up."

And your trade is still stupid.

No... the revenue is calculated into the cap for the following season. Exactly like the Vegas expansion. Most predictions are for either a freeze on the salary cap to ease escrow or a slight increase. 2m or less.

What would you do in a year when you have no goalie and Hyman is up? You've already got two in your top 9 that shouldn't be there.

What would you do the following year when Dermott, Rielly and the kids on D come up?

Kapanen. He’s on pace for 50 now on third line. I would feel confident calling him that as well. The trade still sucks though.

Sorry... but yes that’s normally how things get rounded. And I’m sure that number fluctuates from game to game.
