Sandin and a backup

Created by: leafsFan1996

Description
Winnipeg needs D and Ceci is a good bottom pairing guy, but the Leafs need that money for a backup and spares while Winnipeg could use some D-men and have cap space.

DeSmith is in the minors making 1.25 but posted good nhl number last year. Pens will get a decnet young player in Timo and a pick, also a replacement in the minors for Desmith while shedding a small amount of salary.

Also I know most people will Say leafs need to add on the Ceci deal, but I think he has value across the league and isn't as bad as he's made out to be (tough comp, poor partners when he played in Ottawa). IMO Sandin is just as good as Ceci but is cheaper, so why not replace Ceci and get a backup so Freddy can get some rest.

Jets can't take on that salary even with the retained amount until the Byfuglien situation is sorted. As well, Jets won't need bottom-pairing quality D. If we are in the market for D post Byfuglien situation, it will be for a Defenceman who can play in the Top-4.

fair enough, I know cap space is accumulated throughout the year so maybe they'll be able to fit him. This is also assuming the Buff is done (at least done in Winnipeg).

I know he was rumored to be the return for Hall in Edmonton, granted Chirelli is an idiot. But he's always played top 4 minutes so I'm assuming there are still teams that think he can be effective in that role.
