i agree taht doesnt get the deal done but just so that Devils fans are clear, they arent getting Byram or Girard and they wont get those level assets from any other team either

Dude we get it, but as long as Hall is not traded its going to come up. No one has listened to you on it not happening, so your pissing up a rope!

I've been saying Zadorov, Kaut and a 1st - would that get it done? @coga16 @smitty426

To me, every game that goes by Hall should be losing value. His impact is only as great as how many games he can play. If a 1st + B prospect can get a top 6 forward in a rental situation, then a 1st + an A prospect (at least B+ for kaut) and a top 4 defenseman should in theory get a rental on a guaranteed elite level.

Its only coming up with Devils fans trying to talk it into existence, its not actually coming up, and when a reality check comes in (examples of heiskanen, Glass, Chabot not available in the same level deals for Karlsson, Stone, Duchene) devil fans get all pissy about it.

There is simple not a precedent of such a trade happening and Hall is not on a different level than any of those guys. In a what you done for me lately league, Halls not getting one of, if not, the best D prospect in the NHL as a rental

I think thats in the ball park, I believe they try to get around it by giving up other assets than Zads (still need him for the playoffs and cant see them touching their NHL roster this season with all their injuries)

The Devils should try to unload Hall ASAP before he gets hurt and then he's worthless.

Idk wtf he'll go for, the Avs are set up so well on defense they could easily trade that Timins kid, a 1st and a bit more for Hall.

Top 10 prospects are arguably the best D prospect in the NHL are not given up for Rentals. You cant just make up new value for rentals just bc Halls on your team, these trades with that returns of Byram level prospects do not exist. Plus when you consider its Sakic who is super conservative and a GM. Its just beyond wishful thinking.

What the hell are you going to do if they do indeed trade Byram?
I'm not saying they will, but boy how tall is that bridge you jump off?

They simply won't.

Besides, as a resident of Vancouver who watches many live Giants games, I am not as high on Byram as most people are - he's a defensive liability. Still much better than most competition, but given the value of the pick (4th) - no move is happening.

Rentals simply don't get moved for immediate top prospects.

They don't trade Byram for Hall, you can bet your house on it... Look at the Mark Stone trade from last year. Not that much value, not even a 1st round pick...(there is but in "a prospect")
Often injured Hall = not that big value even if he is elite...
In my book:Stone > Hall valuewise
So anyways, what was it 2nd round + good'ish prospect? So it's a 1st round + 2nd in a conversion... There is not even a Jost there(another goodish prospect)...
It's so simple, there will be a bidding war for Hall: Colorado won't bid with Byram...they bid with other assets... it's that simple, if there is some team who gives up for Hall insane value... then Avs out... not like... oh they give for Hall a good prospect like for example Edm bid with Broberg? Then AVS give up Byram in 10 minutes...anymore bidders? DEAL HALL for Byram... LUL...laugh

So they might end up bidding with Kaut + 1st round pick for example... Or 1st round pick + conditional 1st round pick + conditional 2nd round pick (Avs make it to cup finals/ hall resigns).
BUT they will NEVER EVER INCLUDE BYRAMin the trade. It's really simple... If they ever include Byram in the trade it's for Hall + other players/assets since Byram value > Hall by a large margin.

So anyways, Hall got traded for Larsson, when he already turned out to be a bust... Is Byram a bust for you right now? I'm not sure why Edmonton did it.... but they had their reasons for sure... that was the trade: Hall for Larsson you can look it up. Current season Larson = 0 points = great value right?
No it was not Hall for Hedman, it was Hall for Larsson. -28 last year - 0 points this year, that guy. Hall is not that much valueable... But even if he is... No GM that dumb to trade Byram for Hall... The value is really far off...
