You might be right... but thats a lot of money for a D over 30, and if you are right... then I'd pass. Boro could get more money to stay in Ottawa for sure... they have to hit the floor... plus who would conduct Melnyk'sinterviews if he left?

I agree that the Leafs might have to trade Johnsson or Kapanen to get cap space. But no way those RFAs sign for so little just so you can sign some UFAs.

St. Louis doesn;t have room to sign him for 6M, let alone 8?

Those RFA's are fringe NHL players... they've been making 75K in the minors... why wouldn't they take a guarenteed deal at 1000% increase?

Riiiiigth, okaaay, and they can still make trades and whatnot in the 10 months between now and then. In other words, you're getting way ahead of yourself. He'll be back.
