This is why the trade would never be close to fruition. Defencemen right handed have more value than left alone and top 4 defence right handed are harder to come by especially those who have more points than the winger included in the deal. Deangelo will only be included in a deal that involves nylander. You have to satisfy nyr needs as well not just your own in a steal of a deal.

So your arguement that is since deangelo is a 4th currently playing as a 3rd is equal to a middle 6 winger ? good luck ever finding a trade partner for that deal because you need 6 defence to play that are good to succeed in the nhl.
