Montreal rejects the 1st trade. You don't trade 4 good picks for a late 1st round pick. Even if Palat is an upgrade over Byron, Montreal doesn't need wingers and that cap hit isn't worth the exchange.

Montreal easily rejects the 2nd trade without a question. I shouldn't even have to explain myself here.

3rd trade is also a rejection from Montreal. Ellis shouldn't even be considered because of his contract. Also, you don't trade Petry as a lateral move, you either keep him or trade him for futures.

Well, I disagree with you. Tatar for a 1st, it's very good value. The question is more the timing to do that trade. If we feel we are in for a playoff run, you don't do it. But from the moment habs know they don't make the playoff this year, they should do it straight up. Everybody knows that Tatar is not in Habs long term plan.

The 3rd trade, I would do it cuz Ellis a hell of a player, but yeah Nash would say no.

If Tatar isn't in the plans (he's part of one of the best lines in hockey), you trade him for more than a 1st round pick. I think they could easily get a 1st + Top Prospect for him. At the very least what Vegas paid for him is his starting asking price. Let the other teams get into a bidding war.

Ellis might be good, but I don't like the idea of paying a 28 YO for 8 more years. Montreal doesn't have to trade Alzner because he's being a great Mentor in Laval and we have tons of cap space. Also Brook is our replacement for Weber/Petry

yeah I was probably too worried about it being realistic for the other teams
