Liljegren and Sandin have dominated in the AHL this year. Sandin should be in the lineup now over Ceci. I think it will be a defence core that has growing pains but will be surprisingly solid.

That is a a very bad D core.
Tiny and soft
Sandin and Liljegren are going to rookies and not good enough YET to play minutes they will need too with this.

I think your wrong imo. Sandin is good to be here rn. Lily isn’t far behind him. Dermott and Holl both have been good this year, I think Think this d core could be better

Unless the Leafs go big game hunting on a Barrie or Pietrangelo, Holl and Liljegren should be a bottom pairing battle. More of a reason they shouldnt sign the former. Also DeMelo shouldn't be your best RHD

It'll be interesting to see what happens, I'm not overly worried about it. Both Sandin and Dermot can play the right side as well. If they keep Muzzin, then Dermot could move next to Rielly and then Sandin and Liljegren can play sheltered minutes on the bottom pair.

Like so many Leafs posts, there seems to real reluctance to trade forward with cap...to create cap space to spend on Dmen.

If DeMelo is a top 6 RHD, he should get more money as UFA. Same with Holl, think he top six Dman? Then he should get more as RHD UFA. Dermot is deserving of more and really should be locked up long term. Just saying the reality is Johnsson or Kapanen or maybe even Nylander might have to traded to get cap space for real defensive help. The Leafs think they have cheap, though not as good winger replacements from the Marlies.
